Khalkhali offers an introductory graduate textbook mostly on topological aspects of noncommutative geometry. He assumes students are familiar with homological algebra, algebraic topology based on different forms, and de Rham cohomology. It would take a year-long course to cover all the material, he says, but parts can be used for shorter courses. Two new sections look at a recent development concerning the Gauss-Bonnet theorem and scalar curvature for curved noncommutative tori, and Hopf cyclic cohomology. He has also updated the bibliography. Distributed in the US by American Mathematical Society.
