Barrymore 'in terror'.

TV STAR Michael Barrymore is "terrified" of facing an audience.

He says he has felt that way since the tragic night when Stuart Lubbock was found dead in his swimming pool.

In his first interview since the tragedy, for ITV1's Tonight with Trevor McDonald, he said the memory of that evening had left him with no "bravado" and unable to face his fans.

He told Martin Bashir:

"I can't imagine how Stuart Lubbock's family are feeling.

"I'm sorry for them.

I'm sorry for Stuart. He didn't deserve to die."
