Barkers on a roll for derby battle; RUGBY UNION.

CITY rivals Barkers Butts and Broadstreet come head to head at Pickford Grange Lane tomorrow (3pm) in the first of this season's two Midlands One clashes.

Street won their last meeting, in last season's Warwickshire Cup final, but go into the game on the back of two league defeats while Barkers have picked up wins over Newbold and Stoke in the last fortnight to boost their confidence.

Barkers have Tony Gulliver and Mark Ogleby back in the second row, where Danny Roberts is now unavailable, while Gareth Paine and Russ Saltmarsh return in the backs.

Street are without unavailable back row forward Richard Chaplin, but have both flanker Chris Harrison and winger Ben Powis back from knee injuries.

Barkers Butts: Paine; Thompson, Silvester, Saltmarsh, Samayo; Holmes, Hunt; Watkins, Smith, Lewis, Ogleby, Gulliver, Higgins, Farrell, Southwell. Reps: Clarke, Garland, Joy.

Broadstreet from: Bonas, Campbell, Dearden, Foster, Gardner, Gee, C Harrison, T Harrison, Powis, Rogers, Sheasby, Simkiss, Skene, Skurr, Smyth, Tee, Truslove, Vigor, Warne, Watts.

KENILWORTH give a vote of confidence to the side that beat Banbury last week as they travel to unbeaten Longton in Midlands One.

There is only one enforced change with lock Tom Moon away in South America. Lee Crafar moves forward to the second row and is replaced at open side flanker by returning James Fitzpatrick.

Kenilworth: White; Ramus, Mew, Morgan, Middleton; Marvelly, Filby; Riley, McComiskey, Wilson, Powell, Crafar, Glasheen, Hodder, Fitzpatrick.

NORMALLY employed at fly-half or in the three-quarters, Tom Harrison makes the unusual switch to hooker for Newbold in tomorrow's Midlands One game at Hereford with Paul Welsby unavailable and Richard Kirby injured.

It isn't an entirely new role, however, for Harrison who made the odd appearance in the front row during his first spell at Parkfield Road and when at Rugby Lions.

Prop Ian Savage, who had experience of the job at former club Bedford, will throw in at the line-out.

Martin Shaw plays at scrum-half after returning from a loan spell at Nuneaton.

Newbold: Ferris; Bale, Cockerill, Fletcher, McCollin; B Harrison, Shaw; Savage, T Harrison, Evans, Dixon, Price, Hare, Dodd, Taylor. Reps: Mortimore, Watts, Reading.

HINCKLEY show one change for their home Midlands Two game against Wolverhampton with George Kyriacou coming in on the wing for unavailable Eddie Brittain.

Kiwi back Regan Cliff figures in the squad for the first time this season.

Hinckley: Bott; Kyriacou, Bennett, Dignum, Lennox; C Massarella, R Massarella; P Massarella, D Massarella, Carvell, R Walton, Stratford, Johnson, T Walton, Robertson. Reps: Cliff, Ashfield, Davey.
