Barca move for Lozano.
HIRVING LOZANO'S father has confirmed that Barcelona have made an approach for the PSV Eindhoven winger.
Everton have been strongly linked with a potential move for the Mexico international over recent weeks, especially since the arrival of former PSV chief Marcel Brands as the Blues' new director of football.
In fact, the 22-year-old was one of many names mentioned in new manager Marco Silva and Brands's first media conference at USM Finch Farm earlier this month, although both men were coy over possible links.
The ECHO understands that there is nothing stopping Everton's director of football returning to make bids for PSV players this summer after he left the Eredivisie side on excellent terms.
However, Barcelona have also been linked by recent reports, and now Lozano's father has confirmed there has been contact from the Catalan giants.
"There's been an approach but there's nothing clear at the moment," Jesus Lozano said in an interview with ESPN . "I think we'll see what the reality of things is after the World Cup, if he stays with PSV or if he goes to another team."
Lozano scored 17 goals in 29 league appearances for PSV last season and netted the winner for Mexico as they blanked Germany 1-0 on Sunday.
