Barbarians fielding a strong line-up; RUGBY UNION.

THE Barbarians are bringing a strong side including five full internationals to Coundon Road for Wednesday's 125th anniversary celebration match against Coventry.

Bath and England full-back Jon Callard is joined by Ireland centre Rob Henderson, Scotland fly-half Rowan Shepherd, Australian lock Warwick Waugh and Wales flanker Nathan Thomas in a cosmopolitan line-up for the showpiece game.

Flanker Derek Eves, back on loan at Coventry, will play against his team- mates in a back row completed by Oxford University captain Norman Celliers.

And to add to the international flavour, Gloucester's French prop Stephane Sanchez plays in the Barbarians front row.

"The Baa-Baas promised to put together a strong line-up and there is plenty of pace and power in this team," said Coventry chairman Keith Fairbrother, who was in the front row for Cov when the Barbarians first visited Coundon Road in 1973 and recorded a 30-19 win in front of a 5,000 crowd.

The match kicks-off at 7.30pm and admission is pounds 5 (no concessions). Under- 12s come in free.
