Banned outfits VBIED expert held in Quetta.
QUETTA -- In a major breakthrough, an expert of Vehicle-Borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED) making and perpetrator of dozens of bomb blasts including attack on ATC Judge Quetta Nazeer Ahmed Langov has been arrested, Capital City Police Officer Quetta Abdul Razaq Cheema said here on Friday.
Addressing a press conference, CCPO Quetta disclosed that following the successful investigation into different acts of saboteurs, police team arrested the VBIED making expert miscreant who had confessed to have committed dozens of explosions which caused killing of many people, besides leaving many injured and causing damage to national installations.
Accused namely Surat Khan Mari was detained from the Marri Camp, on the outskirts of the city, CCPO said adding that accused of banned outfit during the investigation revealed that he perpetuated several saboteurs acts including attack on ATC Judge, bomb blast outside the Fire Brigade office in Quetta, an explosion targeting vehicle of police on Mastung Road and attack on FC vehicle on Hazar Ganji Link Road.
These incidents had claimed many lives leaving several others injured.
On the information extracted from accused, huge quantity of explosives, hand grenades, mortal shells and literature helpful in bomb making was recovered near the detainees home located near Kahan Marri Camp Hazar Ganji.
Abdul Razaq Cheema said that accused received financial support and instruction for saboteur acts from his accomplices Sameer Baloch and Hakeem alias Doctor.
"Sameer Baloch used to pay Rs 5000 to accused for carrying out a single bomb blast," CCPO said while referring the initial investigation into the arrest of VBIED expert.
Under the explosive Act 34, 7/ATA case has been registered in the PS Shalkot.
Raids were being conducted for the arrest of other accomplices of the detainees, CCPO said.
