BANK REBUILDING

The Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce is investing $4 million to rebuild its Pine Street and Third Avenue branch in Timmins. CIBC purchased the Kresge store site located directly beside the current branch. The existing building will be demolished and the new banking centre, designed by Akos Frik of Sudbury, will be built on the expanded site. Construction will begin this summer and will be completed in stages so that service is not interrupted. The new building, scheduled to be complete in the summer of 1993, will be 16,000 square feet.
