The board of directors of Orient Bancorporation has said that it has named Michael R. Delucchi as executive vice president and chief operating officer of the company and its wholly owned subsidiary, Bank of the Orient, subject to approval by the bank's regulatory agencies.

Delucchi joined the company on October 28 and will serve as a consultant to the bank pending approval. Bank of the Orient, a privately-held independent community bank, is the oldest Chinese-American bank in San Francisco.

Delucchi has over 25 years of banking experience as chief administrative officer, chief marketing officer, chief technology officer, and controller at various financial institutions in San Francisco and Northern California.
