Bangladesh building collapse death toll passes 400.

DHAKA (TAP) - The death toll from last week's collapse of a garment factory building in Bangladesh has passed 400, as thousands gather in Dhaka for a May Day demonstration to demand safety at work and the death penalty for the building's owner.

The May Day protests came as officials confirmed the death toll from the collapse of the RanaPlaza complex had risen above 400. More than 2,500 were injured.

At least 149 people are still believed to be missing underneath the remains of the eight-storey RanaPlaza in Savar, a town on the outskirts of Dhaka.
