Bandh complete in Ganjam, but Govt offices open.

Berhampur, April 28 -- The bandh called by several political parties in protest against the price rise evoked a near total success on Tuesday as all communications were disrupted and business establishments remained closed. However, the State Government offices functioned normally in the city.

Local MLA RCC Patnaik along with the supporters roamed around the city to enforce the bandh. On the other hand, Gopalpur MLA Pradip Panigrahi went on a motor bike procession across the city. The Left party leaders along with the cadres staged a rail roko at the station due to which some trains were stranded in the morning.

The bus services were completely hit in the city as well as in the district. This was because of the coincidence of the bandh call given by the Maoists due to which the buses were off the road in the district.

Moreover, the Government buses did not go to other districts.

However, the State Government offices, including Revenue departments; RDC, Sub-Collector and tehsildar functioned as usual.
