AFTER appearing on TV's The Crystal Maze, AC/DC tribute band brothers Mike and Gary Robertson are on the highway to...Marske.

The Teesside lads' tribute band to Highway to Hell rockers AC/DC, Black Ice, recently featured on the Channel 4 game show, fronted by comedian Richard Ayoade.

But tonight, they'll play their first gig on home turf since starting Black Ice in 2009.

Mike and Gary grew up in Marske and attended Bydales School in the 1970s. Guitarist Gary went on to play in local bands Central Shaft and then with the band Legend, who headlined Stockton's Fiesta Club and appeared frequently on local radio.

Since 2009, the brothers have played AC/DC classics with Black Ice, featuring Mike's son's Ash Robertson on bass, Ell Robertson on drums and family friend Ian Mclean on rhythm guitar.

But while they've played all over the UK, they've never returned home to play where they were brought up - until now. And due to their recent TV appearance, when they play The Frigate in Marske tonight at 8.30pm, they'll be appearing in Crystal Maze costume and playing clips from the show.
