Ban the bangs `I see a cameraand I'm straight.

Byline: W. G. Hartless

OH FOR the joys of living in the same suburban habitat as Mr Ward of Wirral (ECHO, October 26).

I live in an area I am proud of. But the misuse of fireworks is not by a few misbehaved hooligans - or, may I add, a few adults.

I am a 78-year-old window. I reared a respectable family and my grandchildren behaved appropriately within the tradition of Guy Fawkes in their youth.

I object to being called a moaner or a misery guts. As an active pensioner, I have a cheerful and friendly attitude towards life.

But I do think fireworks and explosives should be banned.

Displays only, please.
