Baltimore Classic Fund Donates $400,000 to Four Maryland Charities.

BALTIMORE, Dec. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Record attendance and support at the second annual Constellation Energy Classic in October has resulted in contributions of $400,000 to four area non-profit organizations. The Baltimore stop on the PGA TOUR Champions Tour was held at Hayfields Country Club in Hunt Valley from Sept. 27 - Oct. 3, and drew more than 35,000 spectators.

Total proceeds to the four charities were one-third more than was netted by the inaugural Constellation Energy Classic event in 2003. Receiving $100,000 each were the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, Kennedy Krieger Institute, Living Classrooms Foundation and the Robert Packard Center for ALS Research at Johns Hopkins. The funding raised for these local non-profits was aided in part by the event's Founding Club Members including Accenture, Comcast, Constellation Energy, MBNA, McCormick & Company Inc., Mile One Automotive, T. Rowe Price and The Rouse Company. The week-long event also brought an estimated $35 million into the region's economy.
