Balochistan to be major beneficiary of CPEC: President.

QUETTA -- President Mamnoon Hussain Tuesday said the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would usher in a new era of prosperity in the country and Balochistan would be a major beneficiary of this mega project.

Addressing the parliamentarians of Balochistan Assembly here, the President said the CPEC would help generate immense employment opportunities across the country and in Balochistan.

The President urged upon all stakeholders to play their due role for successful completion of this project, adding that no changes would be made to the route of CPEC.

He offered arranging a meeting of political leaders of Balochistan with the Ambassador of China to get a briefing that there would be no change in the CPEC route.

He said all motorways and important national highways would be connected to Gwadar which would give great benefit to Balochistan.

He emphasized the need to launch mega projects to cater the water needs of Balochistan.

Our neighboring and friendly countries including China, Turkey, Saudia Arabia and Central Asian countries are ready to extend their full financial collaboration for execution of mega development projects, he said.

President Mamnoon said the country could achieve the goals of development and prosperity by ridding the society of corruption and everybody should play his or her role in eradicating corrupt practices.

President Mamnoon said the country was experiencing an ongoing

upsurge in materialization of development projects and emphasized on carrying out the projects with utmost sincerity and dedication.

He also mentioned several other development projects related to infrastructure and energy production which were continuing at full pace.

He said construction of Gwadar International Airport, besides a network of motorways and dams would help bring prosperity in the country.

President Mamnoon Hussain said the previous governments did not take interest in development projects and added that no dams were constructed to meet the shortage of water and electricity.

About law and order, the President said operation in Karachi had contributed to improving law and order situation and restoration of peace in the city to a large extent.

He said Zarb-e-Azb Operation was nearing a successful completion with elimination of terrorists in tribal areas.

The President urged upon the nation to think passionately about making Pakistan a developed state and work with dedication in exercise of their duties as responsible citizens.

He expressed hope that this spirit would make the country a reflection of the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Iqbal.

Governor Balochistan Mohammad Khan Achakai, Governor Punjab Mohammad Rafeeq Rajwana, Chief Minister Balochistan Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch, Senior Provincial Minister and PML-N Balochistan chief Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri, PML-N senior leader Sardar Yaqoob Nasir, Opposition leader in the Balochistan Assembly and Jamiat-Ulema-e-Islam-F leader Maulana Abdul Wasey, provincial ministers and members Balochistan Assembly were present on the occasion.
