Balochistan Finance Minister urges NHA to play role for preventing accidents.
QUETTA: Balochistan Minister for Finance Mir, Muhammad Arif Hassani on Monday urged National Highway Authority (NHA) to play its due role for reducing accidents and smooth traffic flow on Highways for ensuring provision of facilities to passengers in province.
He said that accumulation of sand on the main road of Pushak area near Dallindin due to strong winds, which was caused hurdling traffic flow and occurring road mishaps in the areas, said press release issued here.
He said maintenance of roads and other related issues was the responsibility of the NHA, for which it was funded to maintain smooth traffic flow in order to ensure provision of facilities to passengers during traveling on National Highways.
Minister stressed NHA officials to take necessary steps to prevent accidents and removed accumulation of sands on National Highway in Pushak area on immediately bases, saying that in this regard, if accidents would be occurred in Pushak area then action could be taken against those relevant responsible personnel under legal processes.
Meanwhile, a meeting of the Local Council Grants Committee (LCGC) under the chairmanship of Provincial Minister Finance, Mir Muhammad Arif Mohammad Hassani was held. Secretary Finance Noor- ul-Haq Baloch, Secretary Local Government Qamar Baloch, Administrative Officer of, Local Government Gul Jan Mengal and Principal Secretary of Chief Minister Noor-ul Ameen Mengal attended the meeting.
The meeting reviewed the issues, requirements and other important problems related to the local councils in remote areas of the province and it was decided that all related matters should be presented in upcoming meeting so that LCGC could resolve all these issues in proper way.
