Balloon race is firing up.
Britons Andy Elson and Colin Prescot in their Cable and Wireless craft were spotted off Japan, 16 days into their flight, travelling at only 24mph.
Passengers on a jumbo jet took snaps at 11,000ft after getting permission to fly by.
Mr Elson, 45, from Somerset, said: "I'm sure the captain had a hard time keeping his plane upright, when all the passengers rushed to one side to catch sight of us."
Their rival Swiss-British Breitling Orbiter 3, was meanwhile flying over Libya at almost 100mph.
Their biggest worry was going too fast and having to wait over India for favourable winds.
