Balloon goes Dutch.

IT might seem like double-Dutch but when the Byrne family released a balloon it made it all the way to Amsterdam.

Jeff and Clare Byrne regularly buy helium balloons for their young sons James, aged 20 months, and Ryan, aged three.

It has become a family tradition to let them go with their address attached to see how far they get, but until last week they had never had a reply.

Then they got a letter from a Dutch TV company called VPRO saying they had found the Thomas the Tank Engine balloon.

Mrs Byrne said: "It was a real surprise. No-one has ever written back so we weren't expecting anything."
