Ballista sets up PS1m pot.

SCOOP6 punters can look forward to playing for around PS1 million next weekend after Ballista wiped out the remaining tickets by winning the Blue Square Bet Golden Rose Stakes at Lingfield yesterday.

Al Ferof's victory in the Paddy Power Gold Cup at Cheltenham sent only two tickets into the fourth leg, but neither Pandar nor Artistic Jewel could land a blow, which means there is a rollover of PS209,145 in the win fund and PS575,107 in the bonus pot.

The opening leg success of 25-1 shot Monbeg Dude set the tone for what had looked a particularly testing challenge, and Ballista polished things off in the fourth event.

A total of PS246,776 was bet into the pool, and there were 186 winners of the place fund, each collecting PS265.30.
