Balance Point Capital, a provider of flexible capital to lower middle market companies, has said that it has appointed Adam Sauerteig as vice president and Grant Groher as a senior associate.

In his new role as vice president, Sauerteig will focus on deal origination, deal execution, and portfolio management.

Sauerteig, who joined Balance Point in 2010, had underwritten, structured, and executed debt and equity investments in lower middle market companies across a variety of industries including Media & Telecom, Healthcare, Consumer & Retail and Business Services. He subsequently worked as a summer associate in the Investment Banking Division of Lazard. Having started his career as an Analyst with Balance Point, Sauerteig rejoined Balance Point in 2015 as an associate.

Groher, who has extensive background in the underwriting and execution of debt financings to non-investment grade companies, has most recently worked in the Financial Sponsors Group at Credit Suisse Securities (USA) Llc an associate. In this role, he was responsible for the due diligence and underwriting of syndicated loan and bridge financings for private equity led leveraged buyout and M&A transactions. He has considerable experience in a variety of industries including Healthcare, Technology, Telecom, Industrials, and Consumer & Retail. Groher started his career at Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, where he assisted in the evaluation and execution of corporate M&A and asset transactions in the energy industry.

With nearly USD625m in assets under management as of December 2017, Balance Point Capital is an alternative investment manager that invests debt and equity capital in select lower middle market companies across a variety of investment vehicles.
