Bahwan DHL rewards safe drivers.
An initiative to improve driver and pedestrian safety on the roads of Oman has resulted in a significant reduction in speeding offences and improved driver behaviour, according to Bahwan DHL Exel Supply Chain (Bahwan DHL).
The six-month campaign culminated in the announcement of Salim al Brashdi as AaeSafest Driver of the Year 2008AAE for a safe driving index of 99.15 per cent.

AoWithin our operations, we identified owner drivers that support oil- and gas-related logistics as being particularly at risk on the roads and introduced a number of initiatives aimed at improving driving skill , behaviour and ensuring more stringent vehicle maintenance.Ao
The performance of the drivers was measured by their overall improvement, including driving behaviour and vehicle maintenance. AoBahwan DHL monitored how well the drivers maintained the condition of their vehicles, including load safety and the progress of the driversAAE responsiveness to feedback on their driving behaviour,Ao said Wayne Tait, health and safety manager of Bahwan DHL.
Salim won RO500 for the award. Other monthly winners included Mahmoud al Qarni, Adeem al Hatali, huwaini Saleem Salmeen, Fadhil al Shidi and Saif Hamed al Amri, who all won RO100 for demonstrating xceptional safety standards.
