Bahrain wins third position in contest for best stamps.

Bahrain has won third place in an international contest for best stamps.

Bahrain was the only Arab country shortlisted at the Malaysian International Contest for Best Postal Stamps.

Postal Affairs Assistant Under-Secretary Shaikh Bader bin Khalifa Al Khalifa said that the win, which comes for the second consecutive year, is a great end to a year of significant achievements, and provides strong motivation to continue to innovate and develop postal stamps in Bahrain.

"There is a specialised committee which selects the entries that best suit the theme of the event, following which a panel of international judges formed by the Universal Postal Union (UPU) for this purpose will evaluate the entries," Shaikh Bader said.

"The final results are published in all UPU publications and website.

"The winning countries are then awarded at a prestigious ceremony organised by the sponsoring countries and attended by the postal services community from around the globe."

Winners are selected using internationally accepted criteria, including theme selection, quality of the presented study, and the content's adherence to the United Nation's humanitarian

principles.
