Bahrain to Host 13th International Conference of IIPM (Arab Gulf Chapter) Next Week.
The 13th International Conference of the International Institute of Project Management IIPM (Gulf Chapter) will be held next week in Manama, the Kingdom of Bahrain. Nearly 1,000 engineers, planners, academics and executives in management, and specialists in the field of project management, and representatives of public and private sectors in the member states of the Council of Arab States of the Gulf (GCC) will attend the conference. The primary goal of the three-day conference, starting its deliberations on January 24, focuses on provision of strategic support for development programs and facilitation of project management facilities in the GCC, which is comprised of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman. Another glaring feature of the conference will be to enhance the value and productivity through project management: lessons learned from the stages of prosperity and decline and enhancement of the value of projects through the adoption of innovative working methodologies.
Addressing a news conference at the Marriott Hotel in Riyadh on Sunday, Engineer Mohamed Hammad, the President of The Project Management Institute (The Arab Gulf Branch) said that, given the size and value of infrastructure development programs in the countries of the region, they will need the experience of regional and international levels to ensure full and effective implementation of large projects, and thus the conference is an opportunity for planners and decision-makers, allowing them to gain the necessary expertise and resources in the area of project management.
He also noted that the conference provides networking and exchange of experiences in the field of project management at the global level.
For his part, Vice President of the Institute Engineer Samir Ashour said that the conference is targeting the sectors of building and construction among the many other sectors, including banking, telecommunications, finance and information technology.
He added that it will also shed light on the dimensions of environmental and humanitarian leadership and project management.
