Bahrain supports Saudi stance on UNSC seat.

| MANAMA, Oct 20 (KUNA) -- Bahrain announced on Sunday its support for Saudi Arabia's stance of not accepting the non-permanent seat at United Nations Security Council (UNSC) describing it as "historic, courageous and steady." "Saudi Arabia's honorable decision to apologize for not accepting the non-permanent membership at the UN Security Council reflected clearly and boldly the stances of many countries which share its desire to enable the Council to carry out its duties in achieving justice and maintaining international peace and security effectively and practically," Bahrain's Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa said in a statement, forwarded by BNA.

Also, the Bahraini premier expressed hope that the UNSC assume its required responsibilities, and that the Saudi stance should be backed strongly at all levels.

In the same context, Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Sunday its full support for the Saudi stance of not accepting the seat, adding that the decision is a clear message in addressing the international double standards on Arab issues.

Moreover, the Ministry, in a statement, forwarded by BNA, said that Kingdom calls for supportive Arab and Islamic stance to attain "the desired momentum to have influence on the international community in order to achieve the desired reform in the manner that reinforces peace and security."
