Bahrain hosts two major championships.
Manama, Feb. 29 (BNA): Risa Takashima (JPN) played Yoon Cho (KOR) winning 15-12 points respectively in the final round of fencing duel held on the fourth day of All Asia Junior Fencing Championship hosted by Bahrain Fencing Association (BFA) and co-organized by the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the patronage of His Majesty the King's Representative for Charity and Youth Affairs, also Chairman of the Supreme Council of Youth and Sports (SCYS) and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
The fourth day of the event saw a strong competition in all the various matches.
Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC)'s board member, Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa, attended the event and met with members of the Bahraini and guest teams whom she had already been acquainted with during the Arab Ladies Clubs Tournament held last month in Sharjah, UAE.
Shaikha Hayat Al Khalifa led the Supervisory and Follow up Committee in her capacity as Chairperson of Women Sports Committee in the Arab National Olympic Committees Federation. She also met the Head of the Higher Organising Committee also Chairman of Bahrain Fencing Association (BFA), Shaikh Ebrahim bin Salman Al Khalifa.
Shaikha Hayat said Bahrain's hosting Asia's championship comes in line with the intentions of Bahrain Olympic Committee and is hosted on the Kingdom of Bahrain's soil which we boast as it provides the opportunity for our national teams to interact with Asian counterparts which will also result in positive feedback and effect on the players, referees and all sportspeople in general at both ends.
Shaikha Hayat said BOC officials are keen on benefiting our aspiring players in all categories from this Asian convergence, alluding to the fencing sport.
She commended the efforts exerted by Bahrain Fencing Association's board of directors, chaired by Shaikh Ebrahim bin Salman Al Khalifa, and all board members, aimed to attain highest success levels and achieve the aspired goals behind the hosting of this grand regional championship.
She concluded by saying they have felt lots of impressions voiced by the participating delegations in praise of Bahrain's sports facilities and their close proximity to each other.
Simultaneously, Bahrain Table Tennis Association (BTTA) is hosting the ninth edition of the International Championship in the vicinity of the Asian fencing championship which permits the public to follow up both championship.
