Bahrain Participates in Arab League Meeting in Doha.

Doha, June 2. (BNA) -- State Minister for Foreign Affairs Ghanim Al-Buainain headed Bahrain's delegation to the Arab Peace Initiative Committee, held here today under the chairmanship of Qatar's Premier and Minister of Foreign affairs Shaikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabur Al Thani and, in the presence of the President of the Palestinian Authority Mahmood Abbas, the Secretary-General of the Arab League and other committee members from Oman, UAE and Kuwait.

The meeting tackled the steps taken by the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) after the failure of the 6-round meeting between the Palestinians and Israelis in Jordan.

The Arab league Secretary-General also presented a report on the Arab role in supporting the Palestinian side in the upcoming phases.

The State Minister for foreign Affairs Ghanim Al-Buainain also headed the kingdom's delegation to the meeting on Syria devoted to the latest Syrian developments.

The State Minister also participated in the Arab Council meeting, chaired by Kuwait's Deputy Premier and Minister of Foreign Affairs Shaikh Sabah Khaled Al Hamad Al-Sabah.

The meeting, held at the request of Sudan, discussed the implementation of the decisions reached by the council last April to enhance solidarity with Sudan.
