Bahrain : Bahrain's Saar Road expansion project set to start.

The government of Bahraini has announced that the Saar Road expansion project work is set to start in June 2018.

The project, which requires to significantly revamp a 2.5-km-long stretch of Avenue 35 which runs past Saar Cinema and convert it into a four-lane highway, is expected to be completed by September 2019

The Saar Road, which presently has one lane in each direction, acts as an important link to Budaiya and all other villages north and south of it.

The project covers 7 bus stops, 5 traffic light intersections and a central reservation with a barrier.

Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministrys roads design section chief Maha Hamada, said, This road is one of the most important in the Northern Governorate. The entire road will be upgraded to two lanes in both directions, which will help traffic flow.
