Bahrain's second batch of Gaza relief arrives.
MANAMA: Bahrain's second relief consignment to Gaza has arrived in Marka Airport, Jordan.
The consignment is to be transported by land to the Gaza Strip, in co-operation with UNRWA and WHO.
On the occasion, Royal Charity Organisation (RCO) board of trustees chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa praised His Majesty King Hamad's directives to provide relief to the besieged Palestinians and standing by them in their plight.
Shaikh Nasser hailed the Bahraini government's support to RCO as well as the efforts of the Bahrain Olympic Committee in delivering the consignments to Gaza.
RCO secretary general Dr Mustafa Al Sayed, meanwhile, explained that the second consignment contains more than 40 tonnes of medicines, relief and food supplies that have been processed according to the needs of the people of Gaza.
Representative of the commissioner-general of UNRWA Ambassador Peter Ford, Director of UNRWA's health Departmen Dr Akihiro Saita, Bahrain's Ambassador to Jordan Nasser bin Rashid Al Kbi, UNRWA foreign relations and projects director Muneer Alias Minah, Jordan Hashemite Charity Ogranisation's delegation and Arab and international news agencies were present upon the arrival of Bahrain's consignment in Jordan.
They lauded Bahrain's leadership and government's supportive stances towards the Palestinians.
