Bahrain's economy to grow by four per cent.

Bahrain's economy may grow by three to four per cent this year, said the governor of Central Bank of Bahrain, adding that the inflation rate was also under control.

Governor Rasheed Al Maraj also said after a meeting of Gulf central bankers in Kuwait that Bahrain does plan to issue sovereign bonds any time soon, according to a report in our sister publication, the Gulf Daily News.

The new claim comes after the Economic Development Board said earlier that Bahrain's economy was expected to grow slightly more than 4 per cent this year compared with 3.2 per cent last year.

Mumtalakat reopened Gulf bond markets by issuing a five-year $750 million bond in June after the market was hit by the European debt crisis, raising the prospect other issuers from the region could follow. -- TradeArabia News Service
