Bahra wins $80m cable deal for Jeddah airport.
Talal Idriss, chief executive officer of Bahra Cables, said: "This mega project confirms that our cables are capable to meet the needs of major construction companies rather than importing from abroad, as well as enjoy great confidence."
He added Bahra Cables produces high, medium and low voltage cables which are fire resistant and do not emit smoke or toxic and suffocating gases in case of fire or electric circuit shortage.
"The company has acquired several certifications including (KEMA, IPH, SASO, LPCB, CSA, BASEC), and others for its production of power cables," said Idriss.
"The company, as well, got ISO 9001: 2008 for its collection of medium and high voltage cables up to 132 kV. Meanwhile, Bahra Cables is the first Saudi cable manufacturer gets ISO 14001: 2004, and OHSAS 18001:2007."
The first phase of the King Abdulaziz International Airport project will take 24 months to complete and can accommodate 30 million passengers annually, a statement said. -- TradeArabia News Service
