Baggage handlersin theft arrests.

TWO baggage handlers at a US airport, who worked for a British contractor, have been arrested and fired for suitcase thefts that included laptops, video cameras and DVDs.

The men, aged 19 and 22, were arrested last week in separate investigations. The teenager was caught trying to use a stolen credit card and the older man was caught selling what apparently were pilfered cigarettes, authorities said. An investigation is continuing.

The men worked for Menzies Aviation of London, a contractor handling baggage and other ground operations for Alaska Airlines at the airport. Seven Menzies employees were arrested in December in Houston after 68 looted suitcases were found in a trash bin.
