Bag a Burglar campaign.

REWARDS of up to PS1,000 are on offer for people who help police catch burglars.

Cleveland Police has launched a "Bag a Burglar" campaign alongside independent crime-fighting charity Crimestoppers to help encourage residents to shop suspected burglars and give information about stolen goods. Detective Chief Inspector Chris Downes said: "We are doing everything that we possibly can to tackle burglary and reduce the number of victims.

"We would like to gather as much information as possible on the people carrying out these intrusive crimes so that we can drive down the number of victims and bring burglars to justice."

"The public can claim a reward of up to PS1,000 if their information given to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 leads to a successful arrest and charge."
