Badminton: Broad smiles again; BADMINTON.

Byline: By Nick Pullen

BROADWAY breezed to their fourth straight win in Men's Division One of the Birmingham Badminton League.

They blitzed Solihull and Shirley's first string 9-0 thanks to the efforts of Simon Goodwin, Rupert Sterling, Trevor Kernick, Leroy Campbell, Steve Pemberton and Handel Suryaputra who were in unbeatable form.

It was a bad week for Solihull and Shirley as their ladies side lost 4-2 against SGN, who were inspired by Sally Bangay and Kirsty O'Shaunessey.

Warwickshire's second string were turned over 13-2 by Nottinghamshire's first-team in the latest round of Inter County matches.

Joanne Homan and Tracy Robbins produced Warwickshire's only success in the ladies doubles as their promotion prospects suffered a real setback.

Warwickshire's third string did much better beating Nottingham fourths 12-3 where Sebastion Schulz and Birmingham University's Alice Waters led the way.
