Bad weather grounds 'parachuting' at Sealine.

DOHA

THE much-hyped 'Power Parachutes' aerial tour, organised by Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) in association with the Qatar Air Sports Committee (QASC) as parts of Eid Al Adha activities, was on Tuesday postponed due to unsuitable weather conditions.

The measure was taken to ensure safety of revellers, a QASC official told Qatar Tribune.

"We plan our aerial tours according to the reports of the Meteorology department and special tools that we own. In addition to that, we follow a specific procedure to check whether it is safe for people to fly and then inform relevant authorities about our operations," QASC official Ali Futais said.

Held near Sealine Beach Resort, the 'Power Parachutes' aerial tour was included in this Eid's QTA programme after being a crowd favourite on Eid Al Fitr, especially for those seeking an unconventional way to spend their holidays and a rare opportunity to experience a birds-eye view of Sealine's sand dunes at Messaieed.

The Power Parachutes tour programme runs till October 10 from 3pm to 6pm at the Sealine Beach area, before Sealine Beach Resort roundabout.

A QASC official said that tours will continue on Wednesday as long as weather conditions allow.

Tickets are available on-site at QR250 per person for each trip for those above 18.
