Backtracking Labour won't fool students again.
I have two family members at university and I asked them what they had understood from Jeremy Corbyn's pre-election speeches on student tuition fees.
They both said that they, and their friends, understood that, if elected, a Labour government would abolish tuition fees and cancel all student loan debt.
They also said that Labour activists were actually targeting students, both on and around university sites, and on social media, repeating this exact message and urging students to vote Labour.
I asked the students what they thought of Jeremy Corbyn's backtracking on this matter and they said that they had thought that he was different but it was further proof that politicians could not be trusted and that they will say anything to get elected.
They said that, next time, they would not be so easily duped.
