PIZZA FUND-RAISER - Thurston and Springfield high school's music programs will benefit from 50 percent of the pizza sales at Roaring Rapids Pizza Company, 4006 Franklin Blvd., from 4 p.m. until closing today (Thurston) and Jan. 28 (Springfield). MIDDLE EAST TEACH-IN - Jefferson Middle School, 1650 W. 22nd Ave., will present "Peace and Justice Through Cultural Understanding" at 9 a.m. Friday. Community members and organizations will participate, as well as Youth Take Action, a youth empowerment group from Portland. The teach-in is part of the Martin Luther King Day Celebration. (687-3221)
FAMILY-STYLE CELEBRATION - Honey Inc., will present this Martin Luther King Jr. event beginning at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Northwest Youth Corps building, 2621 Augusta St. The event includes a potluck dinner; youth speakers; keynote speaker Bahati Ansari, national director of the Racism Free Zone; and entertainment by DJ Haniff, Evan Belize and the Hot Shot Tap Dancers from Portland. SAT PRACTICE - Eugene Family YMCA, 2055 Patterson St., will offer a practice taking the Scholastic Achievement Test from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.
