Baby-rape dad thanks.

A DAD last night thanked The People as he won the next round of his battle for justice against the fiends who raped his baby girl.

Readers inundated the Attorney General with protests last week after we revealed the father's fury at the soft sentences handed to Alan Webster and Tanya French.

And on Thursay Lord Goldsmith asked the Appeal Court to review the "unduly lenient" penalties for raping the 12-week infant.

Webster, 40, of Hat-field, Herts, got life - but could be out in six years.

French, 19, got just five years and could be out in two and a half.

The tot's dad said: "It just shows some things are worth fighting for.

"But this is just the start - we still need the Appeal Court to increase the sentences.

"And hopefully they'll think about reviewing the law so if a case like this happens again the sentences can never be that lenient."
