Business/Technology Editors

NEWTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 24, 2002

Baan Process Solutions, a business of Baan - the leading enterprise application provider for industrial enterprises and part of Invensys plc - today announced that BBA (China) Airlaid Company Ltd., one of the world largest nonwovens producers, will implement Baan Dimensions Enterprise Software at its Tianjin plant, near the east coast of China and Beijing. BBA China is the third affiliate of BBA to implement Baan Dimensions. The implementation of the solution can help provide BBA China with greater visibility and flexibility in stock management, and help them achieve reduced inventory levels and improved profit margins.

"We believe that Baan Dimensions will deliver deep industry-specific expertise and functionality," said Mr. Robert Rufli, President BBA Nonwovens Asia Pacific. "We hope and believe that the comprehensive Baan Enterprise System will be an asset in our drive to improve the productivity and profitability of our business, by better positioning us to reduce scrap and costs and improve lead times, while increasing employee and customer satisfaction."

The implementation is based on Baan's Target Enterprise methodology, which is a widely used method to manage the selection, implementation and optimization of the iBaan Enterprise solution. It is based on the principles and techniques of Goal Directed Project Management (GDPM), and makes use of the iBaan Dynamic Enterprise Modeler, and Enterprise Reference Models supported by Baan and its alliance organizations. Target Enterprise works directly with the iBaan Enterprise software, and reflects the experience of hundreds of implementations.

BBA Nonwovens has implemented the BaanIV Dimensions solution successfully in its France and Sweden operations and the BaanIV Process solution in its Germany operation. The three sites today have enjoyed some outstanding benefits of Baan's enterprise system and utilized the standard Baan modules including Distribution, Manufacturing and Finance, as well as Baan's unique industry functionality.

"Our solutions and services are tailored to the needs of the nonwovens industry and we are customizing them further to meet BBA's specific requirements," said Robert Thomas, Vice President of Baan Process Solutions. "The result is unprecedented functionality, flexibility and business control, that can help shape the company's success now and into the future. We look forward to providing BBA China with the solutions that can help it achieve its maximum potential at the business level."
