BY CHRIS WATHAN How they rated.

BEN WILSON Difficult afternoon for the former reserve who shipped three and looked awkward with his distribution.

LEE PELTIER Very solid despite the defence being breached as it was. Some strong tackling and good aerial work while also got assist to his name. In form.

SEAN MORRISON (CAPT) First game as newly appointed captain but, after a god start, looked below best and was beaten by Martin for killer Norwich second.

MATT CONNOLLY Poor game by Connolly's own standards who got caught out on a few occasions and appeared guilty of standing off for Jerome's opener.

JAZZ RICHARDS Very impressive first half as he linked well with players in front of him and put in huge work to also offer good cover defensively. Not as big as impact after break.

JOE RALLS Didn't offer the same bite as Gunnarsson nor the drive to try and put Norwich on the back-foot.

Didn't protect wing enough and didn't push on in a fairly flat game from the youngster. Sacrificed in attempts to change.

6 LEX IMMERS Very disappointing from the Dutchman who doesn't look like the same player of last season. Slow to react to events around him and halfhearted attempts to cover off the ball.

4 ANTHONY PILKINGTON Some signs of rawness in his understanding with Lambert and still could react quicker but showed his scoring knack of last year hasn't lost him.

7 RICKIE LAMBERT Some good signs that bode well but denied his two big chances. Faded as you'd expect but clearly a far better option compared to competition.

7 8 STARMAN: ARON GUNNARSSON Asked to sit in front of the defence and took on the responsibility, looking like a leader as he covered a huge amount of ground and was first on the scene to cover and protect lines in front of defence. Offered a platform others around him didn't take advantage of.
