BUSINESS VIDEO SECURITY SYSTEM OFFERED BY TIE/COMMUNICATIONS, INC.
SEYMOUR, Conn., Sept. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- A video security and monitoring system that permits after-dark identification of callers or intruders and can monitor four separate activity centers has been added to the business communications product line of TIE/communications, Inc. (AMEX: TIE).
The TIE Video Monitoring System includes a video monitor base, a door-phone camera, power supply and handset assemblies. Up to four additional monitor cameras may also be ordered. The weather-resistant package has an infrared lighting system that permits identification of individuals several feet away in total darkness. The system also provides for two-way audio communications and can be interfaced for convenient voice access with the Ultracom AT and Businesscom Plus telephone systems.
"The TIE Video Monitoring System is designed to meet the limited security and surveillance needs of small businesses, particularly those located in dark or secluded areas," said Jerry Dlugos, product manager. "Because the system can accommodate up to four separate cameras, it is also well-suited for multi-area monitoring, such as what might be required in hospitals, nursing homes, day care centers, retail environments, distribution centers, apartment buildings, receptionless plants and offices, municipal facilities and educational institutions."
At a time of increased concern about employee safety, asset protection, theft and business disruptions, the TIE Video Monitoring System can be an important facility-safety and cost-control tool. Recent court decisions have found building operators liable for damages related to crimes committed on their premises in circumstances where security precautions were found to be inadequate. For many smaller businesses, the TIE Video Monitoring System can serve as a key component in an enhanced security system.
The Video Monitoring System is one of a number of product and service enhancements introduced in recent months by TIE, a leading North American marketer of business communications products and services, with 56 offices in the United States and 12 in Canada. Among other things, TIE has launched the System 5002 Plus voice-mail product line for larger businesses, On Hold Marketing Services and its new Elite dealer relationship for the Mitel PBX line.
TIE is a member of The Marmon Group of companies, an international association of more than 60 autonomous manufacturing and service companies with annual sales of nearly $4 billion. TIE shares are traded on the American Stock Exchange.
