BUSINESS LIFE: Taste of the Med right on the high street.

A NEW culinary gift shop and deli has opened in Leamington.

Oil & Vinegar is the newest outlet in a 100-strong European franchise chain and the 16th in the UK.

The store, which has opened for business in Regent Street, has a Mediterranean theme and offers a range of culinary gifts including olive oils & vinegars on tap, mustards, dips, herbs and spices and different pastas.

It also stocks non-food products such as ceramics and utensils.

Craig Riches, Paul Collett and Antony Cheetham chose Regent Street after scouring the Midlands for the right location.

Craig said: "Leamington has a unique retail offer and there are few more individual shopping areas than Regent Street. We believe the range of shops and the demographic of the town are perfect for an Oil & Vinegar outlet.

"The chain is expanding in the UK but the vast majority of stores are within shopping centres, so this is something new for Oil & Vinegar, as well as for Leamington."

Leamington-based commercial property agents Peter Bromwich let the building - formerly occupied by Cats By Design.

Surveyor Jo Pate said the move showed how well Leamington was regarded by retailers. She said: "Oil & Vinegar is an expanding franchise chain and it says a lot that Leamington is at the forefront of its growth."
