The Northwest Health Foundation has awarded $50,000 to Health Policy Research Northwest, a Eugene-based research firm seeking to improve mental health care delivery for pregnant and postpartum women in the area. In conjunction with the University of Oregon, Health Policy Research Northwest will use the funds to develop a pilot program that encourages low-income, pregnant and postpartum women covered by the Oregon Health Plan to access their mental health care benefits.

SELCO Community Credit Union has awarded 95 minigrants of up to $250 each, for a total of $23,037, for local K-12 classroom projects. Entries were evaluated for their educational impact, responsible use of funds, and number of students who would benefit from the project. The Dental Foundation of Oregon has received a $25,000 grant from Spirit Mountain Community Fund for support of the Tooth Taxi, its free mobile dental clinic. The Tooth Taxi is a state of the art mobile dental van that travels to schools throughout Oregon delivering free dental care and oral health education to thousands of underserved children each year.

Pearl Buck Center Inc. has received $12,000 from the Weyerhaeuser Company Foundation to be used to purchase a greenhouse in the sensory garden. Pearl Buck Center works with those affected by disabilities through vocational, recreational and educational programs.

The Imagine Group has awarded more than $8,000 in goods and services to 12 nonprofit group that were selected as winners of the company's first Great Giveaway Game. Imagine Fleet Graphics will design and install a truck wrap for BRING Recycling and Imagine Photographics will present Ophelia's Place with a half day of professional photography. The remaining 10 winners - Relief Nursery, Save the Pets, Kidsports, Just in Time Recovery Center for Meth Addiction, MECCA, The Inn Independent Living Program, Greenhill Humane Society, Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, the Science Factory and the Oregon Supported Living Program - will each receive a free banner or the equivalent in exhibit graphics or other signage.
