Rolls-Royce is to share in an order from US Airways for V2500 engines to power up to 153 Airbus A320 series twinjets. It includes engines for 78 firm aircraft, with a value to Rolls-Royce of more than over pounds 196 million. Deliveries are due to begin next November.

The V2500 is produced by the International Aero Engines consortium in which Rolls-Royce is a senior shareholder. IAE's other partners are Pratt & Whitney, the Japanese Aero Engines Corporation and MTU Aero Engines.

And Rolls-Royce said Emirates Airline had signed a pounds 166 million long-term Total- Care services agreement covering fleet management of the carrier's Trent 500 engines. The contract relates to ten Rolls- Royce powered Airbus A340-500 aircraft.

Low fares airline flyMonarch.com hit its highest November load factor last month with 82.55 per cent - a 5.68 per cent increase compared to the same period last year.

However passenger numbers slipped 6.31 per cent to 191,533.

Birmingham-based direct mailing specialists Baker Goodchild has been selected by Sandwell Homes as one of its preferred suppliers.

The Chartered Insurance Institute has awarded chartered status to Morrison Edwards, of Alcester.
