ARC of Oregon has recognized the following Lane County residents for helping people with developmental disabilities: Cory Stout, 4J Life Skills Program, Teacher of the Year; Mary Minn Sirag, president of Kind Tree Productions, Sarolta Nagy Memorial Award; Liz Fox, director of Alternative Work Concepts, Professional of the Year; Tamara and Jim Underwood, owners of Bagel Sphere, Employer of the Year; and Tracey Johnson, Alvord Taylor, Direct Service Provider of the Year.
The Eugene Public Library Foundation has five new board members: Val Close, Susan Daniell, Sue Ann Hinman, Nancy Kibbey, and Hue-Ping Lin.
The Eugene Symphony has elected seven new members to its board of directors: Robert Bell, a labor relations mediator; Joanne Berry, a longtime season ticket holder and volunteer; Nonnie Cole, a longtime supporter of the arts; Dr. Ray Englander, a Eugene neurologist; Ilene Hershner, an arts patron and an original member of the Eugene Symphony Guild; Gary Johnston, vice president of investments for Piper Jaffray; and Nancy Kinnard, business development manager for Umpqua Bank. Officers are: David Kammerer, president; Mary Ann Orchid, vice president; Marilyn Deaton, secretary; and Hank Storr, treasurer. Debbie Mee is president-elect of the Eugene Symphony Guild.

Dr. Paul Benda has joined the pediatric department at PeaceHealth Medical Group's Barger Medical Building, 4010 Aerial Way, Eugene. Benda received his medical degree and completed his residency from Oregon Health & Science University. He is a board-certified pediatrician and has been in practice with South Lane Medical Group in Cottage Grove for the last six years.
Dinners Done Right is a new business at 822 Gateway Road, Springfield, where customers cook 12 meals at time to freeze for future use. The business preps ingredients, provides containers and cleans up.
Carefree Car Wash and Firehouse Coffee have opened on the corner of Centennial and Rainbow, next to Value Village, in Springfield.
