BUSHNELL NOMINATED PRESIDENT-ELECT OF AMERICAN BAR ASSOCIATION

 DETROIT, Feb. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Today the American Bar Association nominated attorney George E. Bushnell Jr. of the law firm of Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone to be president-elect of the American Bar Association. His term as president-elect begins at the annual meeting in New York in August 1993. He will assume the presidency at the annual meeting in New Orleans in August 1994.
 "I believe that I can make a positive contribution to the continued strength and growth of the American Bar Association," Bushnell said.
 Wallace D. Riley of Detroit is the last ABA president from Michigan, serving in 1983-84.
 Bushnell is the past president of the State Bar of Michigan, Detroit Bar Association, and National Conference of Bar Presidents. He recently completed a term as chair of the ABA's House of Delegates. He currently serves as a member of the American Bar Association's Commission on Women in the Profession.
 Bushnell, a graduate of the University of Michigan Law School, is a member of Michigan's Attorney Discipline board and has also chaired the State Judicial Tenure Commission.
 The 260-attorney law firm of Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone has offices located in Michigan, Florida, Washington, D.C., and Poland.
