 BUSCH MOUNTAIN MAN TRIATHLON WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
 PLANS FOR TENTH ANNIVERSARY
 WHAT: Busch beer will join forces with hundreds of triathletes
 to present the 10th annual Mountain Man Winter Triathlon.
 WHEN: 8:30 a.m. on Feb. 1, 1992.
 WHERE: The event begins at the base of the Beaver Creek Ski
 Resort in Avon, Colo., meanders through the adjacent
 Arrowhead ski area for part of the snowshoe stage, then
 descends to Nottingham Lake in Avon for 12.4 miles of
 speed skating. In total, the course covers 36.75 miles
 with an elevation ascent of 6,300' and a descent of
 7,020'.
 WHO: More than 200 competitors are expected to participate
 in the triathlon, which takes the endurance to
 cross-country ski 15 miles, snowshoe 9.1 miles and
 speed skate 12.4 miles. Last year's winner completed
 the course in a record-breaking four hours, twenty-one
 minutes and forty-seven seconds.
 Among those athletes already registered to compete are
 former champions Cheryl Chipman and Kirsten Hansen.
 On the men's side, two-time winner Andreas Boessel and
 former champ Dawes Wilson are slated to compete, as is
 defending champion Russell Bollig of Boulder.
 MORE: The triathlon offers a total cash purse of $4,000 to
 top finishers in both individual and team competition.
 Awards will be given to the top ten men and women; to
 the top three teams: men, women and mixed; and to the
 top three men and women in each age group.
