 BUSCH ENTERTAINMENT AND AMERICAN AIRLINES
 ANNOUNCE JOINT MARKETING AGREEMENT
ST. LOUIS, Dec. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Busch Entertainment Corporation, operator of Busch Gardens and Sea World theme parks, and American Airlines today announced the signing of a joint marketing agreement.
The two partners will cooperate in areas such as sales outreach programs, travel trade shows, consumer promotions, new product launches and other joint marketing efforts. The agreement runs through June 1992.
"We're very pleased to forge a marketing alliance with a leader of the U.S. airline industry," said Linda Pester, BEC national sales director. "This partnership will result in increased exposure in key markets important to both Busch Entertainment and American."
American will be the official domestic airline for seven of the nine BEC parks: Sea World in Orlando, Fla., and Aurora, Ohio; Busch Gardens in Tampa, Fla., and Williamsburg, Va.; Cypress Gardens near Winter Haven, Fla.; Sesame Place in Langhorne, Pa.; and Adventure Island in Tampa, Fla.
Internationally, American Airlines will be the official airline for all nine BEC parks, including Sea World of California and Texas. "We're particularly excited about the opportunities this new relationship will provide for tapping the international market and reaching foreign visitors interested in visiting our parks," said Bill Borger, director of national promotions and corporate sponsorships for BEC.
Carter Bibbey, manager of field promotions for American Airlines, said the partnership is a natural for the airline. "It's a perfect marriage," he said. "Both companies will have a sales force promoting the fact that we are partners."
Bibbey added that major consumer promotions, such as sweepstakes, will provide significantly increased visibility for both companies.
BEC is the family entertainment subsidiary of Anheuser-Busch Companies, Inc. (NYSE: BUD), and ranks as one of the world's leading theme park operators. American Airlines is the largest airline in the free world with nearly 2,500 daily departures to 186 destinations.
