The United Negro College Fund provides an efficient, cost-effective and fair way to support Black higher education. Money donated through UNCF becomes general operating funds enabling the 41 historically black colleges and universities to: provide greater access to higher education for increasing numbers of young men and women by keeping tuition down; award scholarships and financial aid; offer challenging degree programs which meet current social and industrial needs; attract and retain highly qualified faculty members; modernize learning facilities; improve libraries and research capabilities; repair and construct campus buildings and otherwise enhance their capabilities to prepare students to succeed in demanding careers.
Bennett College, one of two historically black colleges for women in America, is a private, fully accredited, four-year liberal arts institution. The College holds membership in the United Negro College Fund, is affiliated with the United Methodist Church and welcomes women of all races.
