BURLINGTON ENVIRONMENTAL SMALL QUANTITY GENERATOR PROGRAM WINS AWARD,
 EXPANDS SERVICE
SEATTLE, June 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Burlington Environmental announced today it will expand its popular Small Quantity Generator Program to Kent and Tacoma, Wash. The program, currently operated from the company's Georgetown (Seattle) and Washougal, Wash., facilities, was honored with the Environmental Innovator of the Year Award Monday, June 8. The award was presented to the company by the Association of Washington Business.
The Small Quantity Generator Program provides hazardous waste management services to businesses that generate small amounts of hazardous waste. Under state and federal laws, businesses are liable for the hazardous waste they generate. Auto body shops, printers, contractors, retailers and repair shops are examples of businesses that generate small volumes of hazardous wastes. Burlington Environmental's Small Quantity Generator Program supplies a variety of environmental services to manage waste materials, such as chemicals, inks, paints and solvents. To participate, a business must verify that it produces no more than 220 pounds per month of regulated wastes. The Small Quantity Generator Program helps small businesses comply with environmental regulations at a reasonable price.
"The program provides an environmentally sound and cost-effective way for businesses producing small quantities of hazardous wastes to manage them safely," said John Craig, Ph.D., president and chief executive officer of Burlington Environmental. "We are pleased to announce that Burlington Environmental is expanding this program immediately to two more cities in Washington state. This expansion enables businesses in four cities in the state to use the program on a monthly basis," he said.
Burlington Environmental is a diversified environmental services firm offering hazardous waste management, site remediation and environmental engineering to commercial, industrial and governmental customers throughout the United States.
