BURCH PROMOTED TO REGIONAL SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT FOR NEWLY FORMED MID-ATLANTIC REGION AT COMCAST CABLE COMMUNICATIONS, INC.

 PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Stephen A. Burch, formerly area vice president, has been promoted to regional senior vice president for the newly formed Mid-Atlantic region of Comcast Cable Communications, Inc.
 In his new role, Burch will be responsible for the Comcast Cable systems in Virginia, Maryland, and Delaware.
 In making the announcement, Thomas G. Baxter, president of Comcast Cable Communications, Inc., said, "As the cable business becomes increasingly more complex, it is imperative to our continued success to have senior management operate as close to the business as possible. The new Mid-Atlantic region will benefit greatly from the hands-on management style of Steve Burch."
 Burch began his career with Comcast in 1987 as director of operations for Storer Cable for Howard County and Salisbury, Md. He's held increasingly responsible management positions with the company since 1987 with a one-year absence in 1990 when he became vice president/general manager of Times Mirror Cable in Phoenix.
 Burch graduated with a B.A. in English from the University of Maryland and a J.D. from Gonzaga University School of Law. He is the past chairman of the Cable Television Association of Maryland/Delaware/Virginia.
