Bethesda Lutheran Church - The congregation at 4445 Royal Ave. will resume its fall schedule beginning at 8 a.m. Sunday with traditional worship, 9:15 a.m. fellowship, 9:45 a.m. Christian education and 11 a.m. contemporary worship. 541-688-9085.

Unity of the Valley - A special 10 a.m. taiz service will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday, for healing from the tradition of the taiz spiritual community in France. The church is at 3912 Dillard Road. 541-345-9913.

First United Methodist Church - Concerts at First begins the 2012-13 season at 4 p.m. Sunday with a performance by Priscilla Dantas, a young Brazilian pianist who was an exchange student at Churchill High School as part of the Students Helping Street Kids International Program and who now studies music at the University of Oregon. She will play works by Bach and others on the new grand piano at the church at 1376 Olive St. Free. Non perishable donations to FOOD for Lane County are welcome. 541-345-8764 or

First Christian Church - Worship times are changing Sunday, to 9:15 a.m. for the new Celebration Service and 11:15 a.m. for the traditional service, with fellowship and coffee between at 10:30 a.m. Sunday also kicks off the Christian education programs. The church location is 1166 Oak St. 541-344-1425.

Interfaith Prayer Service International - The 132nd monthly interfaith prayer service on Tuesday commemorates the 11th anniversary of the Sept. 11 tragedies. The theme of the service is "Unity in Diversity: Interfaith Understanding." Prelude music starts at 6:45 p.m. and the service at 7 p.m., hosted by First Christian Church at 1166 Oak St. Free child care is provided.

Community Christian Fellowship - The first luncheon of the season will be next Saturday, Sept. 15, at the Church of the Nazarene at 48187 Highway 58 in Oakridge. Victory Christian Church will co-host. Coffee will start at 11 a.m., with lunch at 11:30 a.m. and the program at noon. Sharon Brown of Operation Christmas Child will be the guest speaker.
